Members Spotlight

The Professional Recyclers of Pennsylvania values every one of our members and the experiences they bring with them to our organization. We all do awesome work throughout the year and much of it goes unnoticed by a lot of people. Sometimes we feel we are doing a thankless job and may feel underappreciated, you are not!

Although we meet each other at PROP and other events throughout the year it’s rare if we actually have a chance to learn about each other, our experiences, and the awesome work we do on a daily basis.

The PROP Membership Committee has started spotlighting our members on a bi-monthly basis. Every month or two, we will spotlight 1 or 2 of PROP’s members on this webpage as well as our Facebook Page, LinkedIn page, and News Views and Opportunities newsletter.

Tell us about your PROP journey!

I became a PROP member shortly after starting at North Lebanon Twp in 2002 and attended my first PROP Conference in 2003. I was always a numbers girl and had a lot to learn about recycling.  I dove right into all the courses PROP offered and obtained my Certified Recycling Professional certification in 2006.

What has PROP membership meant to you both personally and professionally?

I have gained a wealth of knowledge through PROP courses and the annual conferences.  I look forward every year to the annual PROP Conference to connect with other professionals, learn about the latest technology in the recycling industry, and hear from other coordinators about the recycling programs in their counties and municipalities.  I highly recommend PROP to any new Recycling Coordinator and Environmental Science graduates as a place to connect, learn, and grow.

Describe a Fun Fact, Favorite Meal, and a Perfect Day outside of work would look like for you?

I am a Nana to two sweet granddaughters and a new grandson and am looking forward to retiring soon to spend more time with them.
