Members Spotlight

The Professional Recyclers of Pennsylvania values every one of our members and the experiences they bring with them to our organization. We all do awesome work throughout the year and much of it goes unnoticed by a lot of people. Sometimes we feel we are doing a thankless job and may feel underappreciated, you are not!

Although we meet each other at PROP and other events throughout the year it’s rare if we actually have a chance to learn about each other, our experiences, and the awesome work we do on a daily basis.

The PROP Membership Committee has started spotlighting our members on a bi-monthly basis. Every two months we will spotlight 1 or 2 of PROP’s members on this webpage as well as our News Views and Opportunities newsletter.

Tell us about your PROP journey!

I joined PROP to deepen our involvement in the recycling industry, particularly at the local level. As a recycling brokerage, we bring unique insights into commodity markets, pricing, and the flow of materials—understanding where different grades go and what they're ultimately turned into. PROP provides a platform to connect industry professionals from diverse backgrounds, fostering knowledge-sharing and problem-solving. We're excited to contribute our expertise and experience to this community and work together in advancing the recycling industry.

This is our first year as PROP members and we look forward to continuing to engage with and learn from others in the network for years to come.

What has PROP membership meant to you both personally and professionally?

Being a member of PROP has been incredibly valuable both personally and professionally. Over the past year, we've had the chance to attend the 34th Annual PROP Conference at Wind Creek in Bethlehem, PA, take an in-depth tour of Trex in Winchester, VA, and connect with many great individuals in the recycling industry. These events have not only allowed us to strengthen existing relationships but also forge new partnerships and gain insights from industry peers.

I highly recommend PROP membership because it offers unique opportunities to engage with fellow industry professionals, expand your network, and share knowledge that drives the recycling industry forward. Whether through conferences, tours, or committee participation, PROP creates an environment where everyone can learn and grow together.

What’s something about you (a fun fact) that not many people know?

When I was in junior high, I had the incredible opportunity to interview Hank Aaron for the Kids Day section of Newsday.

If you had to eat one meal every day for the rest of your life, what would it be?

As for food, it's a tough choice between cheesesteaks and cheeseburgers, but since this is a PA group, I'll go with cheesesteaks.

Who inspires you in life?

My family is everything to me.

Describe what a perfect day outside of work would look like for you?

A perfect day outside of work would just be spending quality time with my wife, our two kids, and our dog, playing at the park or relaxing at the beach.
